Memorable Moments from 2025: Building Connections & Growing Together
This year wasn’t just about restoring more furniture; it was about relationships, outreach, and creating a stronger community around sustainability and furniture reuse. Here are some of the highlights that made 2025 unforgettable.
Connecting with Our Community
We were proud to attend incredible outreach events across the region, including King County CHOMP, Bothell Sustainamania, the Verdant Community Health Networking Event, Renton Earth Day Neighborhood BBQ, and the Kirkland International Night Market. Each event provided the opportunity to share our mission, meet new partners, and recruit more volunteers to join the movement to reduce waste and support families in need.
If you know of an event we should attend in 2026, please let us know by emailing info@repairbank.org.
Engaging Corporate Partners in Sustainability
We also had the privilege of returning to annual sustainability events hosted by Expedia, T-Mobile, and Starbucks, where we connected with corporate partners committed to making a difference. Many attendees were excited to learn about our organization and signed up as new volunteers, while others scheduled group events for their entire team.
Our Executive Director, Xenia, also co-hosted a webinar for Microsoft employees during their GIVE month, focused on circularity and zero waste. The event was attended by over 100 employees across their U.S. offices. We appreciate the commitment of these companies to promoting sustainability and volunteering within their own community!
One Seattle Day of Service
In July, we once again hosted two amazing volunteer groups for the 4th annual One Seattle Day of Service. Their energy and dedication helped us finish many pieces of furniture in one day and reminded us of the power of collective action. It’s a privilege to be in a city that strongly supports community collaboration!
Media Spotlight
We were thrilled to be featured on KIRO 7’s Seattle Gets Real, shining a light on the importance of furniture reuse and repair in building a more sustainable and equitable community.
Expanding Our Reach
This year, in addition to our Seattle Transfer Station collections, we also hosted collection events in Tacoma, Renton, Kirkland, Issaquah, and Bothell, making it easier for donors to contribute locally and for us to keep furniture out of landfills and in homes where it’s needed most.
Empowering Volunteers with Technology
One of our biggest behind-the-scenes wins was implementing a new volunteer CRM system. This upgrade has made it easier than ever for people to sign up and get involved. The results speak for themselves: new volunteer participation has skyrocketed since it went live in October!
2025 was a year of connection, growth, and innovation. Every event, every volunteer, and every partnership brought us closer to our vision of a world where furniture waste is a thing of the past and every family has the comfort they deserve.
