This privacy policy was created in order to demonstrate Furniture Repair Bank’s commitment to the privacy of our members and website users. It explains what types of information are collected by the Furniture Repair Bank website, www.repairbank.org, and how this information is used.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

Email Addresses

We also collect non-personal data about each user’s IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website, but such IP addresses are not associated with individual users.

Donation Information

When you make an online donation on www.repairbank.org, we collect personal data such as your name, billing address, email address, and the amount of donation. We also collect (but do not retain) credit card numbers which are processed by a third-party payment vendor subject to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. 

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

NON-PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

Furniture Repair Bank collects certain information, which cannot be used to personally identify any user (“non-personal data”). Non-personal data ordinarily include aggregate, summary, or other anonymous data, and may include, by way of example, statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic like popularity of particular pages within our website or types of internet browsers used by the site’s visitors.

The Furniture Repair Bank website uses “cookie” messages to automatically help provide better services. If you provide your name and other personal information, we use this information to provide services such as communicating with our users, recruiting volunteers for community events, answering your requests, and processing donations. We also use both personal data and non-personal data when evaluating ways to improve our website and services. You may choose to opt-out at any time, which will cease all communications from us. 

We will not share your personal information with or sell it to third-party marketers.

We may use the following third-party service providers named below to process and store your data:

• Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group, LLC), which we use to manage email marketing subscriber lists and send emails to our subscribers. You may read the Mailchimp privacy policy here.

• Godaddy.com, our domain host

We will not share your personal information with any other third party unless we have your permission or the law requires us to.

Minors

Furniture Repair Bank’s website is not designed to attract anyone under 13 and we never collect information through our website from those we know are under 13. If Furniture Repair Bank becomes aware of having information about anyone under 13, we will promptly delete the information.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
