Impacts - Spring 2025
With the warmer and drier weather keeping them energized, our volunteers continued churning out refreshed items all spring!
Our impacts keep increasing!
After restoring and providing 433 furniture items to families in Q1 of 2025, we continued and increased our pace in Q2 with 505 pieces sent out the door to provide comfort to families in their new homes. Be sure to visit our Before & After spring installment to see the amazing transformation of these pieces thanks to our mighty volunteers.
Through partnerships with 15 incredible agencies, we supported 139 people from 46 households across the region, from Auburn to Lynnwood and many cities between. A warm welcome to our new partner Healthpoint, a community-based, community-supported, and community-governed network of non-profit health centers.
Thank you again to our agency partners who have been able to pick up the furniture for their clients. Our capacity for deliveries is limited, and with the high demand for our services, this means a longer wait before the items make it to their new homes.
Repair events & volunteer growth continues!
After our high output in Q1, we did not slow our pace one bit. This spring, the workshop hosted 67 repair events, including 36 group and corporate volunteer teams!
Returning companies that brought new volunteer teams this spring included Amazon, Salesforce, Starbucks, Guy Carpenter, Microsoft, Nestle Coffee Partners, Pariveda, Precisely, and Starbucks. Our frequent volunteer groups from Starbucks brought more than 100 volunteers our way this spring. One team also donated coffee pods for our machine to keep our staff and volunteers caffeinated (and provided decaf too!). Thanks for the energy boost!
We also welcomed some hard-working first-time corporate teams into the shop this spring. We hope that the groups from Expeditors International, Meta, NetApp, Parametric Portfolio, SSA Marine, and Zillow enjoyed their time with us. We hope to see you back soon!
Companies aren’t the only ones coming together to volunteer in their community. We hosted multiple teams from different organizations, including Career Path Services, the South King County Rotary Club, Girl Scout Troop 40171, Lighthouse Christian Church, the 1st Methodist Church of Seattle, Moishe House, another group of students from The Northwest School, and a return visit from the MeetUp group Seattle Singles Doing Charity. We also hosted a group that came from all over the U.S. for the Sustainable Packaging Coalition Impact 2025 event. After a tour of the shop and some Q & A, they dove right into volunteering as well!
Our individual volunteer community continues to grow! The first Repair Day of the week is regularly filled with the friendly, familiar faces of many dedicated volunteers who choose to spend nearly every Monday with us. Many of our regulars continue to recommend volunteering at the Repair Bank to friends and family. Some join us to learn new skills that they don’t have the tools for at home, others want to exercise the skills they already have, and some come looking for a sense of community. Whatever your motivation may be, we are thankful for the help and support!
Whether you're volunteering for a couple of hours or a few days each month, we’re incredibly grateful for your time, heart, and hard work. You make this all possible, and we couldn’t do it without you.
Planning a volunteer day with your work team or group? Don’t wait! We are already booking group events into October, so lock in your date now with our request form.
Seattle Transfer Station collections & more city partners
We continued our program of Seattle Transfer Station collection events with the support of multiple volunteers. Our team diverted 235 items away from the landfill over nine events this spring at the North and South Stations. Most of these items have already been refinished and are in their new homes.
Our city partnerships grew as we conducted collection events for the residents of Tacoma, Renton, and Issaquah this spring. We accepted 149 pieces of furniture from residents of these cities who knew their pieces had plenty of life left in them; they just needed a little love to restore their original beauty!
City partnerships are run differently from the Transfer Station events, as residents must submit their items for donation through a form. Since we are quite limited in space in our workshop, we unfortunately cannot accept every item that is submitted. We appreciate the understanding of residents when we can’t accommodate their donation, and hope they can find a home for their furniture elsewhere in their community.
Want to join the fun at a Transfer Station? We’d love your help! And don’t worry—heavy lifting is not a requirement. One of the most important jobs is simply chatting with customers as they drive up to see if they have furniture we can save. It’s a low-key, feel-good way to make a big difference.

Let’s keep saving furniture and the planet, one collection event at a time!
