Looking for a meaningful way to engage your team?

With our pilot last year we learned that virtually anyone can restore some value to an item that was destined for the landfill, they just need some guidance and step-by-step instructions on how to apply their hands. Teaching non-skilled volunteers is a way to build resilience in our community, but also an amazing way to bring together a team and raise their morale by giving them a purpose. This summer we tested running corporate volunteer events for teams of up to 30 people. 

Our first corporate engagement was with a team of Atomo Coffee. Check out their sustainable way to deliver coffee-like beverages with a minimal footprint not compromising on taste and caffeine. The team learned how to properly prepare and paint furniture thanks to our own partner, furniture flipping influencer, Heidi Marsh. 

After the team engagement, their Sustainability Manager Jaxie Friedman said, “Tremendous event – all the volunteers were so grateful to be able to be involved in the work and had only nice things to say. Very impressed with how organized you all were given that it was your first event. WOW!”

Our second success was with Starbucks. For their event, their large team was divided into smaller groups. Some of the groups sanded, some painted, some worked on small re-upholstery, and some helped with other important projects.

We’ll be back.” said Sarah Ama, Senior Supply Planner. And they are back! With Starbucks we are planning recurring monthly events and we cannot wait to meet all their partners.
