The Furniture Repair Bank (FRB) is seeking dedicated leaders to join our Board of Directors and help advance our mission: keep furniture in circulation for the benefit of all members in our community.
As a board member, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction, governance, and sustainability of FRB. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about circular economy solutions, community impact, and equitable access to essential goods.

Who We’re Looking For:
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in:
💰 Finance & Accounting – Experience in budgeting, grant compliance, and financial oversight; ideally a CPA or financial expert.
📊 Governance & Leadership – Prior board or committee experience.
Board Member Responsibilities:
✔ Uphold Governance & Ethical Standards – Ensure compliance with FRB’s bylaws, financial oversight, and legal requirements.
✔ Attend Board Meetings & Events – Actively participate in scheduled board meetings (must attend at least 80% annually) and engage in quarterly FRB events to support visibility and relationship-building.
✔ Champion FRB’s Mission – Serve as an ambassador by advocating for FRB, leveraging your network, securing resources, and recruiting new board members.
✔ Promote Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) – Support diverse perspectives in decision-making and ensure equitable participation in FRB initiatives.
✔ Commit to a Five-Year Term – Members serve a renewable five-year term, contributing to FRB’s long-term growth and sustainability.
